Details
Our program committee
has developed a meeting program designed for nuclear medicine physicians,
technologists, pharmacists, radiologists, oncologists, and scientists
involved in the field of Nuclear Medicine. IIndividuals attending the
course of lectures will be able to:
- Describe historic trends
in nuclear medicine imaging and its future economic impact
- Review the latest indications
and usage for oncologic and non-oncologic PET
- Describe future trends for
this PET and PET/CT
- Explain the latest trends
in the field of nuclear cardiology
- Discuss some of the recent
instrumentation advances, as well as radiopharmaceutical advances that
are impacting the practice of nuclear medicine
- Review the principles of
pediatric imaging and employ modifications that PET imaging introduces
- Anticipate the increased
importance of nanotechnology within the field of nuclear medicine

Continuing Medical Education
Credits
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with Essentials
and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
through a joint sponsorship with the Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM)
and the Southwest Chapter, Society of Nuclear Medicine.
The Society of Nuclear Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council
for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical
education for physicians. The Society of Nuclear Medicine designates this
educational activity for up to 16.0 category
1 credits towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each
physician should only claim those credits that he/she actually spent in
the educational activity.
VOICE Technologist Credit
The Society of Nuclear Medicine Technologist Section (SNMTS), through
its Verification of Involvement In Continuing Education (VOICE) program,
has approved the SW Chapter 49th Annual Meeting for a maximum of 16.0
continuing education hours (CEHs). VOICE-approved credit is
recognized by most licensure states and by the ARRT (as Category A credit).
Participants should report only those sessions at which they were present
a minimum of 80% of the presentation.
Continuing Physicist Education
The Texas Administrative Code (refer to Title 22, Part 26, Rule 601.20)
states that attendance at scientific sessions sponsored by the Society
of Nuclear Medicine is acceptable continuing education. It is necessary
to obtain and retain a certificate of attendance and a program brochure
or final program book.
Continuing
Pharmaceutical Education
The Society of Nuclear Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council
for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical
education. The assigned universal program numbers for this meeting begin
with 210-999-05-014-L04 thru 210-999-05-031-L04 (L01 - Therapy and L04
- General Pharmacy up to 16.0 or 1.60 CEUs).
.
To receive continuing pharmaceutical education credit, pharmacists must
complete a Credit Reporting Form indicating courses attended, sign, date
and return it to the Registration desk. An ACPE Statement of Credit will
be mailed with-in four weeks after the meeting.
